Possible Causes
Damaged membrane keypad, Moisture under touch panel, Loose keypad connector, Faulty UI controller on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: De-energize the charger before removing the front panel.
- 1. Clean surface: Wipe the keypad or touch area with a dry, lint-free cloth to remove dirt or moisture.
- 2. Power-cycle: Turn off power for 2 minutes, then restore and test the buttons again.
- 3. Reseat keypad connector: With power off, open the housing and reseat the keypad or touch panel connector on the control board.
- 4. Check for water damage: Look for signs of condensation or corrosion around the keypad area. If present, replace the keypad/touch panel assembly and improve environmental protection.
- 5. Replace UI or main board: If the keypad hardware is intact but still unresponsive, the UI controller on the main board may be defective and require board replacement.
