Possible Causes
Tripped breaker or blown fuse in panel, Failed internal input fuse on Primecom charger, Loose line connection at input terminal block, Failed internal power supply on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips immediately; this indicates a fault.
- 1. Check breaker: Verify that the dedicated EV charger breaker is in the ON position. If tripped, reset once. If it trips again, stop and call an electrician.
- 2. Test outlet (plug-in models): Plug a known-good device into the same outlet to confirm power is present.
- 3. Inspect input connections (hardwired): With power off at the breaker, remove the wiring cover and ensure all line and ground wires are securely clamped in the Primecom input terminal block.
- 4. Internal fuse: Some Primecom chargers include an internal replaceable fuse. With power disconnected, open the housing and check the fuse with a multimeter; replace only with the same type and rating.
- 5. Control board replacement: If supply power and fuses are good but the unit remains dead, the internal low-voltage power supply on the main control board has likely failed and the board should be replaced.
