Possible Causes
Damaged housing gasket, Cracked enclosure, Incorrect outdoor mounting orientation, High humidity with inadequate sealing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Moisture inside an energized charger is extremely dangerous. Turn off power at the breaker immediately.
- 1. De-energize and dry: Leave the charger powered off. If safe to do so, open the housing and allow it to dry in a warm, dry environment for at least 24–48 hours.
- 2. Inspect seals and gaskets: Check door gaskets, cable entry glands, and any penetrations for cracks or gaps. Replace damaged seals.
- 3. Check mounting: Ensure the charger is mounted vertically and not in a position where water can pool on top or run into vents.
- 4. Look for corrosion: Inspect the control board and connectors for corrosion. Replace any heavily corroded components.
- 5. Prevent recurrence: If the environment is very wet, consider adding a protective hood or relocating the charger to a more sheltered location.
