Possible Causes
Locking pin seized due to corrosion or dirt, Failed lock actuator not releasing, Loss of power during unlock sequence, Misaligned Type 2 socket housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the plug with excessive leverage; you may damage the socket or cable.
- Ensure charging has stopped: Confirm on the vehicle and charger that charging is complete and the contactor is open.
- Use app or button unlock: Trigger an unlock command from the Rolec app or front panel if available. Listen for the actuator.
- Power‑cycle: Turn the charger off at the isolator for 30 seconds, then back on and attempt unlock again.
- Manual release (if available): With power isolated and cover removed, use the manufacturer’s manual release method to retract the locking pin.
- Service or replace lock: Clean and lightly lubricate (with a non‑conductive, plastic‑safe lubricant) the mechanical parts if accessible. If the actuator is burnt out or the pin is damaged, replace the socket/lock assembly.
