Possible Causes

Damaged Type 2 charging cable resistor, Contaminated or bent PP pin in vehicle connector, Loose PP wiring on Schneider EVlink control board, Faulty Schneider EVlink cable lock/proximity circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the EV charger at the upstream circuit breaker and verify no voltage is present before opening any covers. Use insulated tools only.

  • Inspect the cable and connector: Unplug the vehicle. Check the Type 2 plug for bent, recessed, or contaminated pins, especially the PP (proximity) pin. Clean light debris with a dry, non‑metallic brush.
  • Try another cable: If your Schneider EVlink home charger uses a socket-outlet, test with a known-good Type 2 cable. If E01 disappears, the original cable is defective.
  • Check PP wiring inside charger: With power OFF, remove the front cover according to the Schneider EVlink installation manual. Locate the terminal block or harness for the PP line from the socket or tethered cable to the control board. Tighten any loose terminals and look for damaged insulation.
  • Reset the charger: Restore power at the breaker, wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the vehicle. If E01 persists with multiple cables, the internal proximity circuit on the Schneider EVlink control board may be faulty and require replacement.
  • When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable working inside the charger or if the PP wiring and cable appear intact, contact a Schneider Electric–qualified technician to test the PP resistor values and replace the control board or cable assembly as needed.
