Possible Causes
Jammed Schneider EVlink connector lock actuator, Broken lock position sensor, Misaligned Type 2 socket latch, Faulty lock driver circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the connector out with tools; you may damage the socket or cable. Turn off power before working on the lock mechanism.
- Attempt normal unlock: Stop the charging session via the vehicle or EVlink interface, wait for the lock to release, and then gently pull the connector straight out.
- Power cycle: Turn off the charger at the breaker for 60 seconds, then restore power and attempt to unlock again. Some EVlink models will perform a lock reset at startup.
- Inspect for debris: With power OFF and connector removed, inspect the Type 2 socket area for foreign objects or deformation around the locking pin.
- Internal check: Remove the front cover and locate the lock actuator and sensor harness. Ensure connectors are fully seated and wires are not pinched.
- Lubrication: If allowed by Schneider documentation, apply a small amount of appropriate plastic-safe lubricant to the mechanical lock parts (avoid electrical contacts).
- Technician repair: If E12 persists, the lock actuator or sensor assembly may need replacement. This should be done by a Schneider Electric–authorized technician to maintain IP rating and safety.
