Possible Causes
Failed internal self-test of GFCI/CCID, Faulty test relay, Control board self-test logic failure, Damaged safety relay contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not use the charger if it fails its internal safety self-test. Turn OFF the breaker.
- Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON to repeat the self-test.
- Observe indicators: Note any additional LEDs or beeps that may indicate which safety function failed (refer to the user manual).
- No user repair: Internal safety relays and GFCI circuits are not user-serviceable. Continued use with a failed self-test is unsafe.
- Contact service: Arrange for an EVSE technician or Schumacher-authorized service center to diagnose and replace the GFCI/CCID module, safety relay, or control board as needed.
