Possible Causes
Undersized supply cable causing voltage drop, Loose line or neutral connection, Utility brownout or low grid voltage, Faulty input voltage measurement circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Undervoltage can cause unreliable charging and may stress the vehicle’s onboard charger.
- Step 1 – Check other loads: Observe if E07 occurs when large appliances (e.g., electric oven, heat pump) are running. If so, your supply may be overloaded.
- Step 2 – Measure voltage (electrician only): Have a qualified electrician measure voltage at the charger during charging. Compare with the Shell Recharge specifications.
- Step 3 – Tighten terminals: With power off, verify that all supply conductors are firmly clamped in the charger’s terminal block and in the consumer unit.
- Step 4 – Reduce current: Temporarily lower the maximum charging current in the Shell Recharge app to reduce voltage drop and test again.
- Step 5 – Persistent E07 with good supply: If measured voltage is within spec but E07 continues, the internal sensing circuit or control PCB may be defective and should be replaced.
