Siemens
Pilot Current Limitation / Derating
Charging is very slow compared to charger rating; vehicle only draws a low current even though a higher current is configured.

Possible Causes
Charger configured to low maximum current in Siemens app or DIP switches, Dynamic load management limiting current due to household load, Overtemperature derating by internal sensor, Undersized supply cable causing voltage drop and automatic derating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never increase current beyond what the supply wiring and breaker can safely handle.
- Check configuration: Verify maximum current settings in the Siemens configuration interface and adjust within the limits of your electrical installation.
- Review load management: If connected to a home energy manager, check whether other loads are causing the charger to reduce current.
- Monitor temperature: Feel the charger housing during operation; if it is excessively hot, improve ventilation or shade and check for blocked vents.
- Measure voltage under load: An electrician can measure supply voltage while charging; significant drop indicates undersized wiring that may require upgrading.
If configuration and supply are correct but current remains low, the internal pilot generation or temperature sensing may be faulty and should be checked by Siemens service.
