How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Moisture inside an energized charger is dangerous. Switch off power at the breaker immediately.

  • Dry the unit: With power OFF and cover removed, allow the interior to dry completely. Use gentle airflow; do not use high heat that could warp plastic.
  • Inspect seals: Check door and cover gaskets for cracks or misalignment. Replace damaged gaskets with Siemens-approved parts.
  • Check cable glands: Ensure all unused openings are sealed and all cable glands are tightened around cables.
  • Review installation location: If the charger is exposed to direct hose spray or flooding, relocate or provide additional shielding consistent with Siemens guidelines.

After drying and resealing, have an electrician perform insulation resistance tests before re-energizing. If corrosion is present on PCBs, the unit may need replacement.
