Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around charger, High ambient temperature exceeding rating, Failed internal cooling fan (if equipped), Faulty temperature sensor on control board or heatsink
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Overheating can damage internal components. Allow the unit to cool before inspection.
- Check installation clearances: Ensure the Sun Country Highway charger has the minimum clearance specified in the manual on all sides. Remove any objects blocking airflow or covering vents.
- Inspect for direct sun exposure: If the unit is installed outdoors in direct sunlight, consider adding a shade or relocating it to a cooler, shaded wall to reduce thermal stress.
- Listen for fan operation: Some models include an internal cooling fan. During charging, you should hear the fan run. If E06 occurs and the fan never runs, the fan or its power feed may have failed and should be replaced.
- Clean vents: Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove dust, cobwebs, and debris from intake and exhaust vents. Do not use high-pressure air that could force debris inside.
- Sensor or board fault: If the unit trips E06 at normal temperatures and with good airflow, the temperature sensor or control board may be defective. A technician can test the sensor and replace it or the board as needed.
