Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around charger, High ambient temperature exceeding rating, Failing internal temperature sensor, Overheated main contactor or power electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Components may be hot. Turn off power and allow the unit to cool before touching.
- Check installation location: Ensure the charger has the required clearance on all sides and is not installed in a sealed cabinet or near heat sources.
- Inspect vents: Clean dust, cobwebs, or debris from any ventilation slots. Do not cover the charger with cloths or enclosures.
- Ambient temperature: If installed in a garage or outdoors in hot climates, avoid charging during peak heat. Provide shading or ventilation if possible.
- Internal inspection: With power OFF and cover removed, look for discoloration around the main contactor, power relays, and internal wiring. Overheated components may show browning or melted insulation.
- Temperature sensor check: Locate the internal temperature sensor (often attached to the heat sink or PCB). Ensure it is firmly attached and its wiring is intact.
If E06 recurs under normal ambient conditions, the temperature sensor or control board may need replacement.
