Possible Causes

High resistance on protective earth conductor, Loose PE terminal inside Vestel charger, Faulty earth monitoring circuit on Vestel main control board, Incorrect or missing earth connection in supply circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not use the charger until the earth fault is resolved. Isolate the circuit at the main consumer unit. Work on live circuits only if you are a qualified electrician.

  • 1. Visual check of supply cable: Inspect the incoming supply cable to the Vestel charger for damage, crushed insulation, or signs of overheating. Do not operate the unit if damage is visible.
  • 2. Verify earth connection at terminals: With power isolated and cover removed, locate the PE (earth) terminal block inside the Vestel charger. Tighten the earth terminal screw to the manufacturer’s torque specification. Ensure the earth conductor is fully inserted and not frayed.
  • 3. Check upstream earth continuity: Using a low‑ohm continuity tester, measure between the charger PE terminal and the main earth bar in the consumer unit. Resistance should be very low (typically <0.5 Ω). If high or open, investigate the supply cable and building earthing system.
  • 4. Inspect earth monitoring harness: Some Vestel models use a dedicated harness from the PE terminal to the main control board. Ensure the plug is fully seated and the harness is undamaged.
  • 5. Test with insulation/loop tester (electrician only): Perform an earth loop impedance test and RCD/RCBO trip test on the EV circuit. Correct any wiring or protection issues.
  • 6. Suspect control board: If the earth path is confirmed good and E02 persists, the earth monitoring circuit on the Vestel main control board may be faulty. Replace the main control board following Vestel service documentation.
