Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation around Vestel charger, Failed internal NTC temperature sensor on main board or heatsink, Fan failure on actively cooled models, Poor thermal contact between power module and heatsink

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Overheating can damage components. Allow the unit to cool and isolate power before opening.

  • 1. Check ambient conditions: Ensure the charger is not installed in direct sunlight or in a confined space without airflow. Clear any objects blocking vents.
  • 2. Inspect for dust and debris: With power off, remove the cover and gently blow out dust from heatsinks, fans, and vents using dry compressed air.
  • 3. Verify fan operation (if fitted): Restore power with the cover temporarily in place and observe (or listen) for fan operation during a charge attempt. If the fan does not run when expected, test it by applying its rated voltage directly. Replace the fan if defective.
  • 4. Check temperature sensor connection: Locate the NTC sensor (often clipped to the heatsink or on the main board). Ensure its connector is firmly seated and the sensor is in good thermal contact with the metal surface.
  • 5. Sensor resistance test: With power off and sensor disconnected, measure its resistance and compare to Vestel’s temperature/resistance chart. An open or shorted sensor must be replaced.
  • 6. Thermal paste and mounting: Inspect the power module/heatsink interface. If dried or missing thermal compound is evident, remove the module, clean surfaces, apply new thermal paste, and remount to specification.
