Possible Causes
RFID authorization disabled or misconfigured, Charger set to offline or out-of-service mode, Schedule or timer preventing immediate start, Plug not fully inserted into Type 2 socket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is typically a control issue, but never attempt to force connectors. Do not open the unit unless power is isolated.
- 1. Check vehicle status: Confirm the EV is not set to delayed charging or a low charge limit. Disable any vehicle-side schedules for testing.
- 2. Verify plug insertion: Ensure the Type 2 plug is fully inserted until it clicks. Remove and reinsert firmly.
- 3. Authorization method: Confirm whether the Vestel charger is configured for RFID, app, or plug-and-charge. Use the correct method and ensure the RFID card is registered.
- 4. Check schedule in charger: In the charger’s menu or app, disable any charging schedules or timers and set to immediate charging.
- 5. Mode/status check: Ensure the charger is not set to maintenance or out-of-service mode in the configuration interface.
- 6. Power cycle: Turn off the charger at the breaker for 1–2 minutes, then restore power and retry.
