Possible Causes
Damaged door gasket or enclosure seal, Loose or improperly tightened cable glands, Incorrect mounting angle allowing water pooling, Cracked enclosure or cover
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Moisture inside live equipment is dangerous. Isolate power immediately and do not use the charger until fully dried and repaired.
- 1. Dry the unit: Open the enclosure and gently dry internal components with absorbent cloths and low-heat air. Do not use high heat that could warp plastics.
- 2. Inspect seals and glands: Check the door gasket for cracks or compression set. Replace if damaged. Tighten or replace cable glands and ensure they are correctly sized for the cables.
- 3. Check mounting: Ensure the charger is mounted vertically and not tilted in a way that allows water to pool at the top or bottom edges.
- 4. Treat corrosion: Light surface corrosion on terminals can be cleaned with appropriate contact cleaner; heavily corroded parts should be replaced.
- 5. Final insulation test: Before re-energizing, perform an insulation resistance test to confirm no lasting damage.
