Possible Causes

Tripped circuit breaker feeding VW wallbox, Tripped upstream RCD/RCBO, Loose line or neutral connection at wallbox terminals, Failed internal low‑voltage power supply module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not remove covers or touch internal wiring unless you are a qualified electrician. High voltage is present.

  • Check breaker and RCD: Locate the dedicated breaker and any RCD/RCBO for the VW wallbox in your distribution board. Reset if tripped by switching fully OFF then ON.
  • Verify supply with another load: If the wallbox is on a sub‑circuit with a socket, briefly plug in a lamp to confirm power is present. Do not overload the circuit.
  • Inspect external wiring: Look for obvious damage to conduit or cable feeding the charger.
  • Power cycle: If the breaker is on and not tripped, switch it OFF for 2 minutes, then ON and watch for any LED activity.

If the VW wallbox remains completely dead with a known‑good supply, the internal power supply board or main PCB is likely faulty. A technician will need to open the unit, test input voltage at the terminals, and replace the defective module.
