Possible Causes
Loose mounting of main contactor or transformer, Vibrating sheet metal cover, Overloaded or failing contactor coil, Resonance from three‑phase magnetic fields
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before tightening any internal components.
- Identify source: With the cover on and charger running, carefully listen to locate the noise area (do not touch live parts). Then turn power OFF.
- Tighten mounts: Remove the cover and tighten screws securing the contactor, transformers, and any large components to the backplate.
- Check cover fit: Reinstall the cover ensuring all screws are tight and any anti‑vibration pads are in place.
If loud buzzing persists and seems to come from the contactor itself, the contactor may be failing and should be replaced to avoid overheating or malfunction.
