Possible Causes

Worn or contaminated mechanical button, Broken internal microswitch on Volvo front panel PCB, Moisture ingress causing corrosion, Disconnected button ribbon cable

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before removing the front cover.

  • Clean around button: Wipe the button area with a damp cloth to remove dirt or sticky residue. Do not flood with liquid.
  • Inspect internal switch: With the cover removed, locate the button PCB and ensure its connector to the main board is secure.
  • Test switch action: Press the microswitch directly; if it does not click or register, the switch or PCB should be replaced.

If the button is rarely used and the app can control all functions, you may continue using the charger while arranging for a front panel repair.
