Possible Causes

Supply voltage sag below Volvo charger minimum threshold, Undersized feeder cable causing voltage drop under load, Loose line or neutral terminal at charger input, Shared circuit with other heavy loads contrary to installation requirements

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the charger breaker before opening the enclosure. Voltage measurements should be done by a qualified person.

  • Measure supply voltage under load: With an electrician’s help, measure voltage at the charger input while attempting to start a charge and while other large appliances are running. Significant drop indicates wiring or supply issues.
  • Inspect input terminals: With power OFF, tighten all line and neutral terminals at the charger input block to the specified torque. Look for signs of overheating or discoloration.
  • Check circuit exclusivity: Ensure the Volvo charger is on a dedicated circuit as required. If other loads are connected, have an electrician separate them.
  • Upgrade wiring if needed: If voltage drop is excessive due to long cable runs or undersized conductors, consult an electrician about upgrading the feeder cable.

If the supply is stable and wiring is correct but E06 continues, the internal voltage sensing on the control board may be misreading and require board replacement.
