Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not operate the charger with a suspected earth fault. Turn OFF the breaker immediately.
- Verify earth connection: With power OFF, remove the charger cover and confirm that the green/yellow PE conductor is securely connected to the earth terminal and chassis bonding point.
- Inspect supply cable: Check the incoming cable for damage, especially at entry glands. Ensure the earth conductor is intact and not cut or pinched.
- Test earth continuity (electrician): Have an electrician perform an earth continuity and loop impedance test from the charger chassis back to the main panel earth bar.
- Reseat PE monitoring harness: Some Volvo chargers use a dedicated harness from the PE terminal to the control board. Reseat this connector with power OFF.
If E07 persists with verified good earth, the PE monitoring circuit on the control board may be defective. Do not bypass earth monitoring; arrange for professional diagnosis and possible board replacement.
