Possible Causes
Physical impact to charger front, UV degradation of plastic in outdoor installation, Loose mounting screws for holster bracket, Over‑tension from repeatedly yanking cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power if you need to remove the front cover or if the holster is integrated with electrical parts.
- Inspect for cracks: Examine the holster and surrounding plastic for visible cracks or broken clips. Replace if damaged.
- Tighten mounting screws: With power OFF if necessary, tighten the screws securing the holster to the chassis.
- Replace holster: If the holster is deformed or cannot securely hold the connector, order a Volvo‑approved replacement and install per instructions.
Do not allow the connector to hang unsupported by the cable, as this can stress internal conductors and the vehicle inlet.
