Possible Causes
Loose connection in charging cable, Overheating connector, Marginal supply voltage drop under load, Vehicle‑side charging control interruptions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If any part of the charger or cable feels excessively hot, stop using it and turn off power.
- Monitor temperature: During a charging attempt, periodically touch the Wallbox housing and connector (briefly). They may be warm but should not be too hot to touch. Overheating suggests poor connections.
- Inspect cable and plug: Look for discoloration, warping, or burn marks on the connector and cable. Replace the cable assembly if damage is found.
- Check supply wiring (electrician): Have an electrician measure voltage at the Wallbox during charging. Significant voltage drop may cause the charger or vehicle to stop charging.
- Test with another EV: If possible, test with a different vehicle. If only one EV exhibits dropouts, the issue may be with that vehicle’s onboard charger.
- Review app logs: Use the Wallbox app to check session logs for hints (e.g., overtemperature, grid issues) even if no code is shown.
Persistent intermittent charging usually requires inspection of both the Wallbox and the supply wiring by a professional.
