Possible Causes
Failed internal current transformer (CT), Faulty energy meter IC on main board, Loose CT wiring, Corrupted calibration data
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker and verify no voltage is present before touching internal components.
- Power cycle: Turn the Wallbox off at the breaker for several minutes, then back on. Sometimes meter ICs recover from transient faults.
- Check app readings: In the Wallbox app, look at live current and power readings. If they show zero or nonsensical values while charging is attempted, the meter circuit is suspect.
- Internal inspection (qualified technician): Open the unit and locate the CTs around the output conductors and their wiring to the main board. Ensure all connectors are secure and CTs are properly clamped around the conductors.
- Visual board check: Inspect the area of the energy meter IC for signs of overheating or corrosion. If present, the main board likely needs replacement.
- Recalibration (if supported): Some models allow meter recalibration via service tools. Follow Wallbox service documentation to recalibrate. If unsuccessful, replace the CTs or main control board.
Because the meter is used for safety and billing, do not bypass it. Replace faulty components with genuine Wallbox parts.
