Possible Causes
High ambient temperature, Poor ventilation around unit, Loose internal terminals causing hot spots, Undersized supply cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the unit is too hot to touch, stop charging and turn off the breaker until it cools.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure that the Wallbox has the recommended clearance on all sides and is not enclosed in a small, unventilated cabinet.
- Shade outdoor units: If installed in direct sun, consider adding a sunshade that does not block airflow.
- Internal terminal check (technician): With power off, open the unit and inspect all power terminals for signs of overheating. Tighten to specified torque and replace any discolored or damaged components.
- Reduce current: Temporarily lower the maximum charging current in the app to reduce heat generation, especially in hot climates.
If overheating continues after improving installation conditions, have a technician evaluate wiring size and internal components.
