Possible Causes
Damaged Type 2 charge cable in Walli unit, Loose CP/PP terminal in Walli control board, Faulty Walli pilot signal driver circuit, Bent or contaminated pins in Walli charge connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the Walli charger at the dedicated breaker and verify no LEDs are lit before touching the unit. Never open the charger while it is energized.
Steps to check and correct:
- Inspect the vehicle connector: Look at the Type 2 plug on the Walli cable. Check for bent pins, burn marks, melted plastic, or heavy dirt. Clean gently with a dry, non‑metallic brush. Do not use liquids.
- Check cable strain relief: At the bottom of the Walli housing, verify the cable gland/strain relief is tight and the cable is not sharply bent or crushed. A pinched cable can break the CP/PP conductors.
- Power down and open the front cover: With power OFF and locked out, remove the Walli front cover according to the installation manual. Do not touch the main power terminals.
- Verify CP/PP connections: Locate the low‑voltage terminals on the Walli main control board labeled CP and PP. Ensure the screws are tight and the conductors are fully inserted with no exposed copper.
- Check for board damage: Inspect the pilot signal area on the control board for burn marks, cracked components, or corrosion. If any damage is visible, the control board must be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the cover, restore power, and plug into the vehicle. If E01 persists with multiple vehicles and a known‑good cable, the Walli control board or pilot driver circuit is likely defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
