Possible Causes
Incorrect or damaged PP resistor in Walli connector, Broken PP conductor in cable, Contamination causing incorrect PP reading, Faulty PP sensing circuit on Walli control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before any disassembly.
Steps:
- Inspect connector shell: Look for cracks or signs of impact on the Type 2 plug. Mechanical damage can break the internal PP resistor.
- Test with another cable (if model supports detachable cable): If a second Walli‑compatible cable works without E12, the original cable/connector is faulty.
- Continuity and resistance test (technician): With the charger disconnected, measure resistance between PP and PE at the connector. Compare to the expected value for the cable rating (e.g., 220 Ω, 680 Ω). An open or incorrect value indicates a PP fault.
- Replace connector or cable: Install a new Walli Type 2 connector or complete cable assembly with the correct PP resistor.
- If PP values are correct but E12 remains: The PP sensing circuit on the Walli main control board may be defective and require replacement.
