Possible Causes

Missing or high-resistance earth connection, Loose PE terminal in Webasto terminal block, Corroded or broken grounding conductor, Faulty PE monitoring circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not operate an EV charger without a verified protective earth. Shock risk is severe.

  • Visual check: Confirm that the green/yellow earth conductor is firmly connected at the Webasto terminal block and at the distribution panel.
  • Test outlet/line: Have a qualified electrician measure earth continuity and impedance from the charger to the main earth bar.
  • Check for corrosion: In outdoor installations, inspect junction boxes and earth bars for rust or loose clamps.
  • Do not bypass earth: Never link neutral to earth at the charger to ‘trick’ the PE monitor. This is unsafe and violates code.
  • If PE wiring is correct: The internal PE monitoring circuit on the Webasto control board may be defective and require board replacement.
