Possible Causes

Moisture or conductive debris in Type 2 connector, Damaged CP conductor in cable shorting to shield, Faulty vehicle inlet shorting CP to chassis, Internal short on CP line in charger PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect from vehicle and switch off power at the breaker before inspecting connectors.

  • Inspect connector: Look inside the Type 2 plug for metal shavings, water, or dirt. Do not insert tools that could damage pins.
  • Dry thoroughly: If moisture is present, gently dry with a cloth and allow the connector to air dry in a warm, dry place for several hours.
  • Test with another vehicle: If E07 only occurs with one EV, the vehicle inlet may be at fault.
  • Check cable flex points: If the error appears when the cable is bent, the CP conductor may be damaged and shorting to the shield or earth.
  • Replace cable if needed: If damage is suspected, replace the complete Webasto cable assembly. Internal PCB shorts require professional repair.
