Possible Causes
Loose internal harness between control board and communication module, Faulty communication module (Wi-Fi/4G), Firmware corruption, Main control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the charger enclosure.
Steps:
- Power-cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. Wait for full boot (up to several minutes) and check if E12 clears.
- Check app connectivity: Ensure your router or mobile network is functioning. However, note that E12 refers to internal, not external, communication.
- Technician inspection: With power off, open the unit and reseat all low-voltage harness connectors between the main control board and the communication module.
- Firmware update: If accessible, attempt a firmware update via the Zaptec backend once the unit is temporarily online.
- Persistent E12: Replace the communication module first. If the fault remains, replace the main control board.
