Possible Causes
Faulty RFID reader board, Damaged RFID antenna, Loose connector between RFID module and main board, Firmware configuration error disabling RFID
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This fault does not usually affect electrical safety but may prevent authorized use.
Steps:
- Check access settings: In the Zaptec app or portal, confirm that RFID authorization is enabled and that your card is registered.
- Test multiple cards: Try more than one RFID tag to rule out a defective card.
- Power-cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 2 minutes, then ON, and test again.
- Technician inspection: With power off, open the unit and check the RFID reader module and antenna connection to the main board. Reseat connectors.
- If still faulty: Replace the RFID reader module. If the issue persists, suspect the main control board.
