Possible Causes
Slightly bent Type 2 pins, Worn Type 2 socket contacts in charger, Dirt or oxidation on connector surfaces, Marginal pilot signal amplitude
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the charger’s breaker before inspecting the socket closely.
Steps:
- Visual inspection: Check both the vehicle inlet and charger socket for bent pins, debris, or discoloration.
- Clean contacts: Use a dry, soft brush or compressed air to remove dust. Do not use solvents or sprays.
- Try another cable: If the problem disappears with a different cable, replace the original.
- Check insertion force: Ensure the plug is fully inserted until it clicks. If it feels loose or wobbly, the charger’s socket contacts may be worn and should be replaced by a technician.
