How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Moisture inside an EV charger is dangerous. Turn off power at the breaker immediately.
Steps:
- Do not open while wet: Allow the unit to dry naturally in a safe environment. Do not use heat guns or hairdryers.
- Visual inspection: Once dry and with power off, inspect the exterior for cracks, loose glands, or missing seals.
- Technician repair: Open the enclosure, check for corrosion on the main board, terminals, and socket. Replace any corroded parts. Replace or reseat gaskets and cable glands to restore IP rating.
- Prevent recurrence: Ensure the charger is mounted vertically on a flat surface and that all unused knockouts are sealed.
