Possible Causes
Loose connection between display PCB and main PCB, Damaged communication harness, Faulty display board, Faulty main control board communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel or top cover.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect control fascia: Remove the front control panel or top trim (depending on model) to access the display PCB and connectors.
- 2. Reseat connectors: Carefully unplug and replug the ribbon cable or harness between the display and main board. Ensure connectors are fully latched.
- 3. Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid ingress around the display. Dry gently and consider sealing any obvious gaps.
- 4. Inspect harness: Follow the cable route to the main PCB. Look for pinched, cut, or abraded sections and repair as needed.
- 5. Visual check of PCBs: Examine both display and main boards for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or corrosion.
- 6. Replace faulty board: If reseating and harness repair do not clear E7, replace the display PCB first (most common), then the main PCB if the fault persists.
Note: Board-level repairs should be done by qualified technicians to avoid further damage.
