Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Recent large warm food load, Failed compressor or low refrigerant charge, Evaporator fan not running
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks, but unplug the unit before removing panels.
Immediate actions:
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket is not obstructed by food or ice. Clean the gasket and cabinet mating surface.
- 2. Verify cooling: After 1–2 hours of operation, check if the evaporator panel feels cold and if the fan is running when the door switch is pressed.
- 3. Reduce load: Avoid loading large quantities of unfrozen food at once. Spread items to allow air circulation.
- 4. Inspect ventilation: Confirm that rear and side clearances meet AEG specifications and that the condenser is clean.
- 5. Monitor: If the freezer begins to cool and the alarm stops after several hours, the issue may have been temporary. If not, further diagnosis of compressor, fan, and sealed system is required.
If H1 persists and the interior remains warm despite the compressor running, contact a refrigeration technician to check for refrigerant or compressor issues.
