Possible Causes
Damaged or deformed door gasket, Door frequently left open, Door not closing due to overfilled drawers, Cabinet or hinge misalignment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before defrosting to avoid electric shock.
Steps:
- 1. Manual defrost: Remove food to a cool box, unplug the freezer, and leave the door open until all ice melts. Use towels to collect water. Do not use sharp tools.
- 2. Inspect gasket: After defrosting, check the gasket for cracks, splits, or sections that do not contact the cabinet. Warm slightly with a hair dryer to reshape minor distortions.
- 3. Replace gasket if needed: Pull out the old gasket from its channel and press in a new genuine AEG gasket, ensuring it seats fully around the door.
- 4. Check hinges and leveling: Adjust hinges and leveling feet so the door self-closes and aligns evenly.
- 5. Avoid overfilling: Ensure drawers slide fully in and do not push against the door.
