Possible Causes
Faulty main control board relay, Broken wiring from PCB to compressor and fan, Safety thermostat open circuit, Demo mode enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before accessing the control board or wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Check for demo mode: Consult the user manual for your AEG model to exit showroom/demo mode, which disables cooling.
- 2. Listen for relays: When temperature is set colder, you should hear a relay click on the PCB. Absence may indicate a board fault.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Verify that all connectors from the PCB to compressor, fan, and sensors are secure.
- 4. Test safety thermostat: Some models have a safety cut-out thermostat in series with the compressor. Test for continuity and replace if open.
If the PCB does not energise outputs despite correct inputs and settings, replace the main control board.
