Possible Causes

Refrigerant leak in evaporator or pipework, Partially blocked capillary tube, Weak compressor, Condenser heavily clogged reducing heat rejection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not attempt to cut or open any refrigerant lines. Unplug before cleaning or inspection.

Steps:

  • 1. Check condenser: Clean dust and lint from the condenser coils and ensure good airflow around the unit.
  • 2. Door and gasket: Verify the door seals tightly all around. Replace damaged gaskets to prevent warm air ingress.
  • 3. Frost pattern: With the rear internal panel removed (if accessible), observe the evaporator after 15–20 minutes of running. A healthy system shows even frost across most of the coil. Frost only at the inlet or a small section suggests low refrigerant or restriction.
  • 4. Load and usage: Avoid overloading and ensure air can circulate between baskets.

If the frost pattern is abnormal or cooling remains weak despite clean condenser and good seals, a sealed system repair (leak detection, recharging, or compressor replacement) is required and must be performed by a licensed refrigeration technician.
