Control panel shows AL and an audible alarm sounds, indicating an abnormal condition.

Safety: No internal work is required for basic checks.

Steps:

• Check door: Ensure the door is fully closed and not obstructed. Verify the gasket is sealing all around.
• Silence alarm: Press the alarm reset button. If the alarm returns, investigate further.
• Check temperature: Use a freezer thermometer to confirm actual temperature. If above 10°F (-12°C), there is a cooling issue.
• Door switch and sensor: If the alarm persists with normal temperature and closed door, test the door switch and cabinet thermistor and replace if faulty.

Note: Persistent alarms with normal operation may indicate a failing control board.
