Possible Causes
Door left open or frequently opened, Failed door gasket causing air leaks, Defective thermistor reading too warm, Sealed system cooling issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks, but unplug the unit before removing panels.
Immediate actions:
- Verify door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and not blocked by food items. Listen for the latch engaging.
- Check gasket: Inspect the door gasket for tears, gaps, or debris. Clean with warm soapy water and dry. Replace if damaged or not sealing.
- Allow recovery time: If the door was left open, close it and allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to return to normal. Avoid frequent door openings.
- Check loading: Do not overpack against the rear wall or air vents; maintain airflow.
- Sensor and cooling checks: If H1 persists with a closed door, test the cabinet thermistor and verify the compressor and fans are running. Replace a faulty thermistor or contact a technician if the sealed system is not cooling.
Food safety: Discard perishable items that have been above 0°F (-18°C) for extended periods.
