Possible Causes

Shorted door switch wiring, Broken harness in door hinge area, Failed door switch contacts, Corroded connector at control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before working on wiring.

Procedure:

  • 1. Observe behavior: Check if the interior light stays on with the door closed or never comes on. This helps determine if the circuit is stuck open or closed.
  • 2. Inspect hinge area: On some Amica models, door switch wiring passes near the hinge. Look for pinched or broken wires.
  • 3. Test door switch: Remove the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while actuating it. Replace if readings do not change.
  • 4. Check connector at PCB: Trace the switch wires to the main board and ensure the connector is clean and firmly seated.
  • 5. Replace faulty parts: Install a new "Amica Door Switch" or repair the harness as needed. Clear the error by unplugging for several minutes.

Note: A stuck-on light can heat the freezer interior and raise temperature.
