Possible Causes
Failed touch keypad membrane, Cracked or damaged display PCB, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Loose keypad ribbon cable to control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Clean and dry: Wipe the control panel surface with a dry cloth. If there are signs of liquid spills, leave the unit unplugged for several hours to dry and see if the error clears.
- 2. Access keypad connections: Remove the control panel cover to expose the keypad ribbon cable and display PCB. Check that the ribbon is fully inserted and not torn.
- 3. Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connectors. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush (with power disconnected).
- 4. Replace keypad or panel: If the membrane is cracked or the touch panel is physically damaged, replace the entire "Amica Freezer Control Panel/Keypad Assembly" for your model.
- 5. Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and test all buttons. If E7 persists, the display PCB or main PCB may require replacement.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; always apply to a cloth first to avoid future moisture damage.
