Possible Causes
Condenser tubing embedded in cabinet walls, Poor ventilation around freezer, Ambient temperature very high, Condenser coils dirty
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Surfaces can be hot but should not cause burns. If they are extremely hot, unplug and investigate.
Steps:
- 1. Improve ventilation: Ensure there is sufficient clearance around the freezer as specified in the Amica manual.
- 2. Clean condenser: Unplug and clean the rear condenser coils and compressor area.
- 3. Ambient conditions: Avoid placing the freezer next to ovens, radiators, or in direct sunlight.
- 4. Monitor: Some warmth is normal as heat is rejected through cabinet walls, especially on no-frost models. If the compressor runs constantly and surfaces are extremely hot, seek service.
Note: Excessive heat can shorten component life; address ventilation issues promptly.
