Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or accessing any components on the rear.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is at least several centimeters of clearance around the sides and back of the Ariston freezer. Remove any items blocking the rear grille.
- Clean condenser coils: Pull the unit slightly away from the wall. Using a soft brush and vacuum, carefully clean dust and lint from the condenser coils and the compressor area. Do not bend the coils.
- Inspect condenser fan (if fitted): With the unit unplugged, spin the fan blade by hand to ensure it moves freely. After cleaning, plug the freezer back in and observe if the fan runs when the compressor starts. If the fan does not run, the fan motor or control board may be faulty.
- Monitor temperature: After cleaning and restoring ventilation, allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to stabilize. Keep the door closed as much as possible.
When to call a technician: If the compressor is hot and running continuously but the freezer does not cool, or if you hear clicking from the compressor area (start relay cycling), a professional sealed-system or compressor diagnosis is required.
