Freezer displays error code E1 and the temperature reading on the display is clearly incorrect (e.g., shows -18°C but food is soft).

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal panels.

• Locate the freezer sensor: Often located behind a small cover on the inner wall or clipped to the evaporator in Ariston freezers.
• Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is properly clipped in place and making good thermal contact with the surface it is meant to measure. A loose sensor can give false readings.
• Inspect wiring: Look for cuts, abrasions, or loose connectors along the sensor harness. Reseat connectors at both the sensor and control board ends.
• Replace if needed: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests open/short with a multimeter, replace it with the correct Ariston freezer NTC sensor.

When to call a technician: If a new sensor does not resolve E1, the main PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be checked by a technician.
