Freezer displays error code E3 and may not start the compressor or may run erratically.

Safety first: Unplug the freezer. The compressor area contains live mains voltage when powered.

• Access compressor: Remove the rear lower cover to expose the compressor and its electrical components.
• Inspect start device: Remove the plastic cover on the compressor terminals. Check the start relay/PTC and overload protector for signs of burning, cracking, or melting.
• Check connections: Ensure all spade connectors are tight on the compressor pins and not corroded.
• Replace start relay/overload: If the start device is visibly damaged or you hear repeated clicking from the compressor area when powered, replace the start relay and overload with Ariston-approved parts.

When to call a technician: If the compressor still fails to start or trips the overload after replacing the start components, the compressor itself may be faulty and requires professional sealed-system service.
