Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain hole, Frozen drain tube, Cracked drain tray, Door gasket leaking causing excess frost melt
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before defrosting or working with water near electrical parts.
- Locate drain: Inside many Ariston freezers, a small drain hole is located beneath the evaporator or at the rear of the compartment.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft plastic probe or pipe cleaner to gently clear debris from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, flush warm (not boiling) water through the drain to melt any ice in the tube.
- Check rear tray: At the back, inspect the drain tray above the compressor for cracks or misalignment.
When to call a technician: If the drain repeatedly freezes or leaks continue, the drain heater (if fitted) or insulation may need professional attention.
