Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing any external sensor housings or control compartments.
- Locate ambient sensor: On some Asko freezers, an ambient sensor is mounted behind a grille on the front or rear of the cabinet to measure room temperature.
- Inspect sensor and housing: Ensure the sensor is intact, not broken, and not covered by dust or debris.
- Check wiring: Follow the sensor leads to the control board, looking for pinched or cut wires and loose connectors.
- Test and replace sensor: If you can measure resistance, compare to other NTC sensors at similar temperature. Replace the sensor if it reads open or shorted.
If AL12 persists after sensor replacement, the control board may misinterpret ambient readings and should be evaluated by a technician.
