How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel. Avoid static discharge by touching a grounded metal object.
Steps:
- Remove control panel: On most Avanti digital freezers, the display is mounted on the front door or top fascia. Remove screws or pry off trim carefully to access the display PCB.
- Check ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon or multi-wire harness connecting the display to the main control board. Ensure it is fully seated at both ends. Disconnect and reconnect to clean the contacts.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracked solder joints, burnt components, or moisture damage on the display PCB. If present, the display board should be replaced.
- Check main board connections: Access the main control board (usually at the rear, behind a metal or plastic cover). Verify the display connector is secure and free of corrosion.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in the freezer, and see if E2 clears. If the error remains, replace the display PCB first. If still unresolved, replace the main control board.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; liquid intrusion can cause this fault.
