How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing interior panels. Wear gloves to protect from sharp metal edges.

Steps:

Listen for fan: When the compressor is running and the door is closed (or door switch held closed), you should hear the evaporator fan inside. If silent, suspect a fan issue.
Check for frost blockage: Remove the interior rear panel to inspect the evaporator and fan. If the fan is encased in ice, defrost the unit completely and check the defrost system (heater, thermostat, control).
Test fan motor: With the unit unplugged, spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely. Measure resistance across the fan motor leads; an open circuit indicates a bad motor.
Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
Replace evaporator fan motor: If the motor is seized or electrically open, install a new OEM Avanti evaporator fan motor.
